Jávea, Xàbia (valenciano), touristic and maritime town on the Costa Blanca, is situated between the Cape San Antonio and the Cape La Nao , enjoy the impressive and magnificent protection of the Montgó (2470 feet). A clear and pleasant Mediterranean washes its 16 miles of beaches, coves and cliffs. The town has an historical nucleus with tosca porticoes, gothic baywindows, wrought iron window bars and balcony railings, luminous patios... The fortress church San Bartomé, is an example of late gothic with a defensive character. The house of Felipe Bañuls, an early 17.th century town-mansion harbouring today the Municipal Archaeological and Ethnographical "Soler Blasco" Museum. This museum shelters as well as prehistoric, Iberian, Roman Medieval, Islamic and Christian remains, and a special attention is to be paid to a replica of the "Jávea´s-Xàbias Iberian Treasure." Abuanas del Mar is an urban center developed around the harbour, formed by this maritime and touristic ward. A visit to the Santa Maria de Loreto Church, fine example of expressionist architecture build during the 60, is a must. The Arenal Area is the commercial, estival and "in" center of the town. Various restaurants with national and international specialities you find there, and one of the Parador-Hotels de Turismo Costa Blanca. Night-life is provided by its discotheques, pubs, discobars, cafés, etc... You find all kind of activities in Jávea, cultural or commercial centers, sport complexes, port, golf course, tennis and skin diving, etc. During the second half of June are held the festivities of "Les Fogueres de San Juan": greeted with parades, public dancing, bulls, bonfires, fireworks and "Crema de la Foguera". End of July Javea celebrate the important Fiesta Moors and Christians.
